The internationally renowned Methodist modern art collection is coming to Ellesmere Port in 2014.

Spread across four venues in the town centre, 50 fabulous paintings will be on public display from March 6 to April 27, 2014 as part of a six-week arts festival in the town.

Throughout the festival residents will be able to view the collection, which will be housed within Trinity Church Ellesmere Port, West Cheshire College, University Church of England Academy School and the Paperboat Gallery.

Trinity Ellesmere Port’s Christine Jones said: “The booking for the Methodist Art Collection to come to Ellesmere Port was made five years ago and the hope was that this stunning collection of modern art would act as a catalyst for active participation in a town, where there is a wealth of creative interest and expertise.

“2014 marks the centenary year for the beginning of the First World War and also the centenary year for Trinity. I am really hoping the whole community will engage with the Festival and create a legacy in the town.”
